The first week of March is sleep awareness week so I wanted to share some information about sleep with you. Sleep is an extremely important part of a healthy lifestyle. Most people need 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Sleep is so important because while we are asleep, our bodies are recovering and repairing any damage from our day.
Chiropractic can help with getting a good night's sleep. Chiropractic helps to take pressure off the spinal column which allows the nervous system to function more optimally. Because the nervous system controls everything in the body, a properly functioning nervous system will help to improve sleep. There are two other tips for getting a good night sleep. 1) Use a good pillow that supports the natural shape of your neck. 2) Sleep on a firm mattress. A firm mattress supports the spine and helps the body to get better rest.
